How Optra works

Optra is a private brokerage account on Robinhood Chain. This page covers the visibility model, the instrument universe, the network it settles on, and what happens when you place an order.

Overview

Blockchains changed how financial markets can operate. Assets move globally, ownership is verified cryptographically, and markets run without traditional intermediaries.

There is a tradeoff that gets discussed less often. Transparency is good for markets. It is not always good for portfolios. On a public chain your positions, entry prices, portfolio size, unrealised P&L and full trading history can be read by anyone who knows your address.

Traditional brokerages have always treated that information as sensitive. Your account is not indexed by a public explorer, and a stranger cannot look up your holdings. Optra brings that expectation onchain: you hold tokenized equities, and you decide who can see them.

Visibility modes

Visibility is set per position, not per account. A position carries one of three modes, and you can hold positions in different modes at the same time.

Private

The default. Only you can see the position. That covers position size, entry price, unrealised P&L and the exposure it adds to your portfolio. Nothing about the position is readable from your address.

Share

Sometimes you need to prove what you own without broadcasting it. Share discloses a single verifiable position to one nominated address — a counterparty, a lender, an auditor — and nothing else.

It lets you say “I own this position” without also saying “here is my entire portfolio”. That is selective disclosure: the recipient can verify the claim, and learns only what you disclosed.

Public

Publish the position onchain so anyone can see and verify it. Public conviction, a public track record, a position you want on the record. Transparency becomes a choice rather than a requirement.

Transparency without exposure

There is a false choice between everything being public and nothing being verifiable. Privacy technology offers a third option: verifiable when necessary, private by default.

  • A counterparty can verify a position without gaining access to your wider financial life.
  • An investor can keep a portfolio private without giving up the ability to prove ownership.
  • A trader can operate onchain without turning every move into a public signal.

Financial privacy is not about hiding wrongdoing. It is about having control over your own financial information — who sees it, how much of it they see, and when.

Instruments

Optra lists tokenized equities. Each instrument tracks a listed security and carries an o-prefixed symbol — Apple trades as oAAPL, NVIDIA as oNVDA. Market data in the terminal comes from TradingView and reflects the underlying listing.

Network

Optra settles on Robinhood Chain mainnet, an EVM-compatible network built for tokenized real-world assets. Connecting a wallet in the terminal prompts it to switch to this network, adding it first if your wallet does not already know it.

Robinhood Chain mainnet parameters

Gas is paid in ETH. Balances shown in the account panel are read directly from the network through your wallet.

Placing an order

An order is built in the terminal: instrument, side, quantity, order type, and the visibility the resulting position should carry. Share orders also take the address you want to disclose the position to.

  1. Review

The order terms are shown before anything is signed. This step can be turned off in account settings.

  2. Authorise

Your wallet is asked to sign the order terms. The signature attributes the instruction to your account. It is a signed statement of intent — it transfers no funds and calls no contract.

  3. Route

The authorised order is handed to the venue for execution and settlement.

Order routing is currently paused for scheduled maintenance.

Orders can be built and authorised, but they will not be submitted and no funds will move until routing is restored.

Account settings

Settings are stored on your device and are not transmitted. They are reachable from the gear in the masthead or from the account panel in the terminal.

Private by default. Public by choice.

You should be able to own assets onchain without publishing your entire financial history. You should be able to prove something without revealing everything. You should be able to share with one person without sharing with everyone. And when you do want the world to see a position, that should be your decision too.

Your portfolio. Your visibility. Your choice.
